Frequently asked questions
Is a match certain?
A full observation sequence and its motion must fit the orbit. The current thresholds are not a calibrated probability. A human should review the source data before public reporting.
Why is there no candidate?
Orbit, time or station coverage may be missing. A lack of JPL candidates is not a negative identification.
Does watch continue after closing the terminal?
No. The watch process must remain running.
Does the program contact the MPC about a match?
No. MPC reporting is a separate human-reviewed step.
