Can I close Codex?

Yes. The background process starts outside the Codex process job. Closing the app window also leaves collection running.

Why do process and disk bytes differ?

Caches, network, devices and delayed writes distinguish logical process I/O from physical disk I/O. The report keeps those measurements separate.

Are recordings uploaded?

No. Recordings and complete command lines stay on your PC. The online connection serves the documented update check.

Antivirus and platforms

Windows artifacts are Authenticode-signed. Signing cannot guarantee absence of false positives. External VirusTotal testing is pending. No macOS, Linux or mobile version is currently available.
