Target-Earth for Windows
Help
How to choose an object, interpret observations and control each view.
Choosing an object
Use Search object and Select object. Current NEOCP/PCCP objects and historical pre-impact discoveries are separate groups. “Data locked” means a precise, source-coherent moving-frame state is unavailable; hover the status for the specific reason.
Playback and timeline
Play, Pause, Reverse and Forward control time. Enter 1×, 10×, 60×, 600×, 3600×, a custom factor or an approach rate in km/s. Upward ticks are observation times; downward ticks are MPC submission times. Hold the small arrows or keyboard arrows to step with progressive 1.2× acceleration.
Station events
Observation, Submission and Both choose when markers change. In Both, an empty ring appears at observation and the coloured share fills at MPC arrival. Code text can be toggled. Hover gives full UTC times and station identity; clicking a station opens its individual station page.
Earth size and brightness
Apparent size reproduces the changing angular size. Constant telescope size keeps a normalized disc radius. Night brightness raises ambient detail without changing the solar terminator.
3D, Mollweide and trajectory
3D permits mouse rotation and wheel zoom. Stereo offers LR and RL. Mollweide is centred on the sub-object longitude. Trajectory shows the real source-coherent path, hourly labels, station observation points, an impact symbol and Earth occlusion. Free camera motion stops as soon as pointer input stops.
MPC submission history
Open the submission-history entry from the Start menu or with --page submissions. The first object is 2022 WJ1. It contains sorted OBS80 rows, batch-by-batch Find_Orb results, uncertainty maps and retained PSEUDO-MPEC reports.
